Isaiah promotes “a garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness…” If praise is to be worn like a garment then GENERATIONS: Bring You Praise is a wardrobe, with a mix of styles for the whole church family. Musically and lyrically it is a call to generational unity and the Oneness made possible by the inclusive love and grace of Jesus.

Produced by Peter Shurley and featuring soloist Sallee Reimer-Duntin, this collection of songs by Janine Max begins with the invocation Bring You Praise, leading into energetic praise tunes sung by a children’s choir, before calling the intergenerational church to worship with the psalm-like Let the Whole Earth. The maxiPraise standard We are The Church has been re-worked in true gospel style completed with additional verse. Australian gospel singer Judd Field lends his incomparable vocals to the contemporary style of One Body, a study of 1 Corinthians 12, produced by Jared Haschek. In keeping with the intergenerational flavour of the album, Immortal Invisible has additional lyrics written by Janine that can be sung by each generation, bringing them together as one in the final verse. Janine brings her own vocals to the ethereal Celtic-style tunes of God Almighty (Isaiah 6) and the hymn-like His Love So Great, a poem written in 1942 by Janine’s grandfather before she set it to music almost 70 years later. Janine also composed music for lyrics written by Kylie Herman aged 7, a keen ballet dancer expressing her praise to God in Dance for Jesus. Remember Me was written specifically for Communion services and this version produced by Jared Haschek features the smooth voice of Mel Searle. The album concludes with the rousing country gospel song Living in the Light as Sallee Reimer-Duntin effortlessly delivers the paraphrased Psalm 23.
